The History Of Kashmir Is Very Old. According To Ancient Kharoto, It Starts From Rishi Kashyap. Perhaps Kashmir Is The Only Region In India Whose History Has Been Duly Written. Kalhana’s Rajatarangini Is One Such Book. The History Of Jammu Is Equally Old. On Investigation, Its Sources Can Be Caught Till The Mahabharata Period. The History Of Ladakh, Gilgit And Baltistan Are Related To The History Of Himalayas. The Older The Himalayas, The Older The History Of These Regions. But The History Of The Newly Formed Princely State Of Jammu And Kashmir By Merging These Five Regions Is Not That Old. These Are All Things Of Yesterday. The Credit For The Creation Of This Princely State Goes To Maharaja Gulab Singh. In 1822, Maharaja Gulab Singh Sat On The Gadudi Of Jammu.
